- excerpt from the Staub™ Cranial System nomination (Journal of Dental Technology, WOW! Oct 2007)

Like a classical quartet where musical precision is required, tooth alignment cannot be placed in a willy-nilly fashion. The Staub™ Cranial System from Staub™ Cranial GmbH, gives you a mathematical approach identifying the proper position of a patient’s lost dentition to a proven 95 percent accuracy, according to the company. This dental laboratory technique uses anatomical reference points to customize and personalize the anterior and posterior position to the individual patient.

You accomplish this by taking measurements of anatomically stable landmarks on the master model and entering them into a computer program to produce a patient specific dental map. This map, along with three specially designed instruments, enables you to properly mount the models without the use of a bite registration.

You can use the Staub™ Cranial system to manufacture accurate dentures, esthetically correct diagnostic wax-ups, stints for implant placement or splints for neuromuscular therapy. In addition, a training program is available to help you easily implement this system into your laboratory no matter its size.
